Theory
1. Recall the different parts making the small & large intestine and their surface markings
2. Define the midgut, hind gut and list the abdominal viscera derived from it
3. Recall the characteristics of pain arising from the midgut and hindgut sructures
4. Divide the peritoneal cavity into supracolic and infracolic compartments
5. Compare between jejunum and ileum regarding arrangement, and gross features
6. Outline the parts, attachments, and content of the mesentery of small intestinal
7. Summarize the main structural features of the large intestine
8. Outline the main differences between large and small intestine
9. Compare the relation of different parts of large intestine to peritoneum
10. Underline the role of peritoneal folds in directing flow of fluid within peritoneal cavity
11. Describe the Location, parts, & mesentery of appendix
12. Review the structure of appendix in relation to pathogenesis and pain of appendicitis
13. Discuss the effect of different locations of tip of appendix on the site of perceived pain
14. Summarize the blood supply of different parts of small and large intestine

Practical
1. Trace the small intestine from DJ junction till ileocolic junction
2. Trace & identify parts of large intestine from ileocecal valve to sigmoid colon
3. Identify the small intestinal mesentery and the structures within it
4. Distinguish the jejunum from ileum
5. Recall the blood and nerve supply of the small intestine
6. Identify Teniae coli, Appendices epiploica, and Haustra
7. Locate the appendix, its mesentery and the artery supplying it
8. Acknowledge the variable locations of the tip of the appendix
9. Recognize the midgut and hindgut parts of the gut tube
10. Locate the sites in which pain from small and large intestine can be felt on the AAW
