Significance
• Sociology is one of the most important social sciences because it studies human beings and how they react to each other and their environment. This basic premise allows for the implication of findings in sociology to affect both individuals and larger societies. How will a society be affected by a civil war? Some of the branches that work very closely with sociology are psychology, criminology, anthropology, socio-economics and political science.
