Second term
Structure II
Introduction:
Students study the fundamentals of structural steel design in addition to understand the concept of design RC slabs especially for one way slab. This course is an extension of the study of the concepts learned in Strength of Materials (Structure I). The theoretical and allowable stresses are evaluated and compared for compliance with AISC LRFD Code and the American Concrete Institute Code. Design of tension and compression members will be discussed in the end of this term.

1st + 2nd Design of Slabs (one way slab)
3rd + 4th Introduction of Steel Structure Design
5th to 10th Design of Tension Members
11th to 15th Design of Compression members
