Types of software:
System Software
Application Software Distinguish between systems software and applications software.
System Software :
Required to make the computer work.
Translates between humans and the computer hardware.
System software such as an operating system, programming languages and translators.
Application Software:
Software used by users.
Application such as a word processor, games, E-mail.
Interface: It is the way that the user used to deal with the computer or communicate his commands to the computer and it is two types.
Command Line Interface
Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Advantages of the work group:
Sharing of files, documents and resources.
Sending messages to all the users on the network at the same time, accessing the same file and updating it by any one who has the authority to do so.
Sharing software.
Providing services efficiently.
Sharing equipment s.
Data Communication Hardware:
Modem: It converts analogue format to Digital and visa versa.
Integrated Services Digital network (ISDN): It is designed to transmit the digital signals with more speed but with extra cost.
Network Interface Card (NIC): It is a card as interface between a channel and a computer.
