Comparison of Adverb
The comparative and superlative form of adverbs are formed in exactly the same way as those of adjectives.
Irregular comparative and superlative forms;
Positive comparative superlative
Well better best
Badly worse worst
Little less least
Much more most
Far farther farthest
Late later latest.
The comparative and superlative forms of adverbs are used in much the same way as those in adjectives.
e.g.
He runs faster than his brother.
You should write more carefully in the future.
Our team play better than yours.
I work as hard as you do.
He drove the slowest of them all.
Position
reemphasis . Except for adverbs of frequency , some common adverb, and restrictive adverbs of degree, the other adverbs are placed at the end of a clause or a sentence in the following order;
a. adverbs of manner (answering the question "How"?)
b. adverbs of place (answering the question "Where"?)
c. adverbs of time (answering the question "When"?)
e.g.
The train stopped suddenly at this station yesterday.
(manner) (place) (time)
She sang beautifully at the party last night.
He sat quietly at his desk all day.
