His head and right shoulder hit the pavement ( he was not wearing a helmet) and he was unconscious for about2 minutes. When the ambulance arrived, he was confused but he was sitting up talking. He has a 5-cm ragged, transverse laceration across the left frontal region just below the hairline. He has full movement in both eyes. Both eyes are strong and he has brisk reflexes. There is no tenderness in his neck, no sign of trauma to his left shoulder and no evidence of any other injury. Spine and chest are OK and he has no pain in his ribs the patient s abdomen is soft, pelvis is OK, legs are OK and he walks with a normal gait.
