University council carries out the following authorities for getting the job done in the university and accomplish the desired goals:-

3. Endorsing a plan for opening the scientific departments .
4. Starting after graduate studies in different fields at the colleges of the university and its institutions according to the conditions and stipulations .
5. Recommendation to assign the deans of the colleges through a commendation from the university chancellor .
6. Giving the professorship degree to colleges' teaching staff members .
7. Approving on the scientific dedication of the lecturers in and outside the country according to the law of university service .
8. Recommending acceptances plans for after graduate studies and primitive degrees .
9. Endorsing scientific research plans for the institutions, centers and colleges .
10. Reconsidering studying curriculums and make changes in it to enrich the scientific status .
11. Approving on considering a year of study as non flunking for the students who undergo problems outside his ability .
12. Approving on considering a year of study as non flunking for university students because of the exceptional circumstances in the country .

1. Administrative Authorities
• Endorsing the scientific, administrative and technical cadres and ordering for its execution in the university departments.
• Certifying on deals with other universities and institutions of other countries.
• Approving on the rehabilitation and training plan for the scientific and administrative cadres after a recommendation from the chancellor of the university.
• Recommending to approve on sending any employee in the university to court of law if they violate the law and by recommendation from the chancellor of the university.
2. financial authorities
• Endorsing the plan of the annual financial balance sheet , importation and investment plan for the university by arranging with the specialized authorities
• Certifying the final statement of the university.
• Inspecting the financial inquisition report, put it under discussion and specifying the faults and working on repairing it.
• Approving on paying out the items of the balance sheet, investment and importation plans according to the specified limits.
• Approving on transferring items from the balance sheet by a suggestion from the chancellor of the university according to the instructions of fulfilling the general balance sheet of the government.
• Giving the chancellor of the university some authorities.
