The department has been founded with the foundation of the university itself in 25/4/1991 , and because of all the developments in the field of information technology and to keep pace with the demands of the Ministry of Higher Education and the university in order to achieve the best results possible in doing the work, save and restore the data and new data base has been developed. Lately, data base division disengaged and attached to the division of administration information which is called Data Base Unit. The duties of the unit summarized in establishing the technology of planning in the colleges, centers and departments of university presidency and work in coordination in order to follow through, execute the strategic plan in the academic, administrational, financial magazines, the department includes the following divisions:

Administration and Legal Affairs Department

The department has been founded with the foundation of the university itself 25/4/1991, it has two parts legal affairs and administration affairs.

a- Legal Affairs Unit lawaffairs@uobabylon.edu.iq

This unit takes responsibility of administrating and organizing the legal aspects in the university. The unit practices a real active role in accomplishing the aims and duties they responsible for. There are four divisions in the unit for now( lawsuits and legal advice, investigation committees, guarantees and ratifications, legal update ).

b- Administration Affairs Unit administration@uobabylon.edu.iq

this unit takes responsibility of administrating and organizing administration aspects in the office of the university presidency, this unit contain six divisions they are ( personnel, human resources, archive, outgoing and incoming, identities, central pounces and promotions).

Financial Affairs Department finance@uobabylon.edu.iq

The department has been founded with the foundation of the university itself 25/4/1991 the execute the orders of financial exchange for the demands of the colleges and the departments and centers of the presidency of the university. The exchange is done centrally depending on the normal financial budget of the university. The department has the following units ( regular budget accounts, accounts of the funds of higher education, management of the central warehouse, accounts of the investment plan and reconstruction campaign ).

Department of General Services servicedep@uobabylon.edu.iq

The department is newly developed in 18/12/2003 it follows through the work of transportation of the employees beside doing the work of maintenance, plumbing and electrical maintenance beside sustaining and developing the gardens of the university, taking care of the hygiene of the university. The department has the following divisions ( agricultural, machinery, maintenance, general affairs, stations) .

Central Housing Unit housingsection@uobabylon.edu.iq

This unit has been founded in 23/3/2004 and it is responsible for and with the cooperation of central committee of housing to study the applications applied by the employees of the university to have a resident and consider the applications according to the criteria of competitions which depends on the instructions of housing. Further more, the unit follow through the occupancy of housing units, provide services and does the maintenances.

Administration Information Unit informsec@uobabylon.edu.iq

This unit has been founded in 1/3/2009 the unit includes the electronic archive which has been founded in 26/11/2006 and administration system unit founded in 4/5/2009 this unit supervises on programs systems connected with the administration aspect, entering and updating the date of the lecturers and employees on the level of the university presidency and colleges. Also, the unit supervises on wired and wireless net for the university presidency, all the computers of administration unit is connected with it through the broadcast system (access point) or through the wired net. The net is run through Monitoring Server which was prepared for this beside saving the electronic information in a backup server.

Division of health and occupational safety

This unit has been founded recently in 1/3/2009, it aims at ensuring the occupational safety for the workers and students in the educational organization in the pole of educational service, educational processes and administrating the resources in all the activities of the organization. The unit has the following divisions ( occupational safety, environmental sanitation, civil defense).

This unit developed recently in 30/4/2007 it does several tasks among them are:

• Follow up the work in the administration departments to make sure of that they are conformed to the regulations and procedures and submit periodic reports to the administration office.
• Follow up the absentees and vacations for the employees of the department of administration assistant.
• Submit proposals that make the work easier in the department of administration office.

University website unit

The unit is developed in 2005, it does the following tasks:

• Supervising on the website by continuous observation on the work of the site and make sure from the reservation dates of payment to the host of the site through the Iraqi communications and media.
• Designing the pages of the website, adjusting the site according to the needs of the university.
• Sustain and update the news of the university.
• Publish the activities of the university as they come in from concerned authorities.
• Designing the pages of the departments of the presidency of the university and publish its activities.
• Open and develop the email of the lecturers in the university in order to make it easy for them to communicate with scientific institutions in and outside the country.
• Designing new interface for the website.

The last unit was separated from the office of university assistant for administration affairs in 6/10/2010 and it is now part of computer center.
