College Message

Strongly believing in its role in the publication of science and culture the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research decided to establish the college of Arts in the University of Babylon in order to be edifice of education and a center publication humanities , and qualifying the specialists and researchers in the College if Arts endeavors to make the college a house of the science which concentrates on man being the corner stone of rational and social development, to reinforce aspiring after human knowledge, and to prepare staffs of academics and specialist researchers in humanities during the years of studying and through cultural seasons and seminars. Though the building does not confirm the requirements of college, the deanery continued to introduce and achieve all the Scientific programs. The deanery of college , while expressing its happy for receiving the new students, decided to consider the 6th of November of every year as "The Day of College" in which their would festivals and celebration, because the college has been found on this day of 2004 A.D, which conceded with 23 rd of Ramadan 1425 H.

College Goals

1. Qualifying researchers and specialists in the disciplines that each of its departments has been devoted to .
2. Enriching the students' awareness of the nation's heritage, escorting the development of Knowledge , science and arts, preserving the first source of culture ( the Language) and implanting the investigation spirit for Knowledge .
3. Helping the society to be aware of our cultural heritage through making close relationships with the society, by holding public sessions .
4. Carrying out plans for discovering and excavating the ancient locations , studying their findings and circulating researches on them .
5. Popularizing consciousness of public tourism of studying the old Iraqi languages (Sumerian and Akkadian) and qualifying specialists in them .
6. Applying the scientific theories of sociology and anthropology so as to check the extent they can be applicable in reality, and trying to enrich these theories and make them more precise .
7. Carrying out comparative studies for the phenomena resulting from the societal conditon .
8. Making the relationship between the society and the University more fruitful through carrying out social researches and studies for the society which aim at tackling the social problems concerning public and official interest and suggesting the ways by which these problems can be resolved.
